"Television Reporting" Seminar Begins
2014-04-22
On Friday 18 April, working within a framework of media development for the Palestinian community in Israel, I’lam Media Center launched our newest workshop, “Television Reporting.”
Attended by 18 journalists and communication students, the course will run for 5 weeks (30 academic hours). The training focuses on number of subjects: the main components of TV reporting; pre- and post-production work; conducting television interviews; how to stand in front of a camera; and writing for broadcast.
Riyad Deis, TV Unit Coordinator and responsible for trainings at Birzeit’s Media Development Center, said that he was “attentive of the need to work alongside I’lam in its efforts to professionalize and empower journalists from the PCI given the absence of Arabic educational intuitions in the field. What distinguishes this collaboration,” he explained, “is communication and networking from both sides of the green line.”
In other programming news, I’lam university debate program continues strongly, with over 60 participants from Hebrew University, Tel Aviv University and Nazareth.
