Celebrating I’lams move to its new office and Presenting the achievements of the ‘Palestine Icons’ project
On Tuesday I’lam organized a special ceremony to conclude the project "Palestine Icons”. Dozens of civil society activists and public figures attended for the presentation of the six short films produced during the project. The six short films dealt with the lives of journalists, poets, novelists and writers: Rashid Hussain ; Emile Habibi; dignified Abboud; Samira Azzam; Eisa Al-Eisa and-Samih al-Qasim.
Prof. Amal Jamal, Director of I’lam, opened the ceremony welcoming the attendees and touched upon the current security conditions. In particular, he mentioned the institutional challenges on the Palestinian national identity and the recent Islamic movement ban aimed at reducing the political space available for the Palestinian community. He emphasized the need to protect pluralism and freedom of expression, stressing solidarity with those affected by decisions made by the Israeli government and aim to suppress the Palestinian community, including journalists in the media institutions, "swat alhaqq walharriata", "filstinyw al 48", "ashiraqata" w- "kiu burs"("voice of the right and freedom", "The Palestinians of the 48 "and" Que Press").
The ceremony began with the presentation of the six films that were acclaimed by the public. It later honored the directors Ali Nassar, Adi Edwan and Essam Bellan, a number of representatives and all those who contributed to the production and the success of the films.
